The Craft: Claire Atherton

This month, the Museum of Modern Art in New York presents The Craft: Claire Atherton, a retrospective celebrating four decades of the French editor’s work. Running through October 23, the programme focuses on Atherton’s long collaboration with Chantal Akerman, alongside her work with filmmakers including Wang Bing, Éric Baudelaire, Bani Khoshnoudi, Emmanuelle Demoris and Maria Kourkouta.

On Sabzian, we have published two texts by Atherton, “Living Matter” and “Can We Be in Touch with What Is?”, in which she reflects on editing and her approach to montage. Both texts are available in Dutch, French and English.
