Films and documents of Andy Warhol
All Tomorrow’s Parties explores two often overlooked aspects of Andy Warhol’s multifaceted oeuvre: printed matter and film. The exhibition brings together books, magazines and posters from the Herbert Foundation archive, alongside 22 films on loan from The Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh. The exhibition opens with Warhol’s printed matter, introducing his work as a writer, publisher and bookmaker, before moving into a series of rooms exploring different aspects of his filmmaking practice. The film selection changes throughout the exhibition.
Programme:
- October 2026 - June 2027: Screen Tests (1964–66), shown continuously in a loop, featuring figures including Marcel Duchamp, Lou Reed, Nico, Edie Sedgwick, Susan Sontag, Donyale Luna, Jonas Mekas and Bob Dylan.
- October - December 2026: Empire (1964), Camp (1965), Hedy (1966)
- January - March 2027: Sleep (1963), My Hustler (1965), Poor Little Rich Girl (1965)
- April - June 2027: Blow Job (1964), Afternoon (1965), The George Hamilton Story (1966)
Although Warhol is not represented in the Herbert Foundation collection, he holds a prominent place in its archive. The exhibition explores the Collection Imaginaire of Annick and Anton Herbert: artists they considered essential to their intellectual and artistic framework, even when their work was not part of the collection.
